- Reading twice: once speedily and marking passages which need to be processed

- This method does not force us to choose between reading fast and reading thoroughly
- Helps us spend a lot of time on books that have a lot of usable info
- 2nd time we read the book we make notes, connect to what we already know, perhaps using the Zettelkasten Method
